Talk, London Underworld, with Colin Oakes, Thursday 16th April 2026, 7:45pm, Church Centre, Featherbed Lane

London has always had a crime problem, often with gangs controlling the activity, from Alsatia in the 16th and 17th centuries, through Covent Garden and Jonathan Wild in the 18th. The talk looks at London crime through the ages until the time of the Richardsons and Krays in the 20th century. The various forms of criminal activities are covered and the characters making London fear the Underworld.

Spring Show, Saturday 28th March 2026, Holmer Green Village Centre

Thank you to everyone who made our Spring Show a success - the exhibitors, the setting-up team, the judges, their stewards, the tea team and, of course, everyone who came along to view the Show. The Annual Show will be on Saturday 5th September 2026 and you can download the Show Schedule here.

Outing to RHS Garden, Wisley, Wednesday 6th May 2026

Terry and Val Owen have kindly organised this, our annual trip to an RHS Garden. The coach will leave from Holmer Green at 9:15/9:25am and leave Wisley to return home at 3:30pm. The cost (coach only, admission is free) is £18 per person. You can download a booking form here or collect one from the Trading Store in Beech Tree Road on a Sunday morning.

Trading Store open for 2026

Our Trading Store is fully open for business each Sunday morning and we have now received our main delivery of bulky products like compost. Members can renew their membership at the Store on any Sunday between 10am and mid-day. Copies of the 2026 Show Schedule are also available at the Store.

No more discounts at Hildreth's Garden Centre or Peterley Manor Farm

We have learned that, from 1st September 2025, Hildreth's no longer offer our members the 10% discount on horticultural purchases. Apparently, this is because they have launched their own loyalty card costing, we believe, £5 per annum. We also understand that discounts are no longer offered by Peterley Manor Farm.
